The 42cast Episode 18: Legion of Doom

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow season two? Listen as we try to decide if this is actually a really good show, despite its weaker first season, with characters and stories worth following, or if its just a fluke of focusing on the guys who make any story interesting- because everyone secretly loves the bad boys… :

The second season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow brought a new direction, new characters, and some changes for some old ones. It also saw the formation of the Arrowverse’s first team of villains, The Legion of Doom. This week, The 42cast talks about the second season of Legends of Tomorrow and focuses in on the villains.

The 42cast Episode 17: The Final Battle

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about that second half of last season’s Once Upon a Time? I know you’ve been waiting with your breath held for this, but now the curse has been lifted and you get to hear us talk about what worked and what didn’t, and why this Disney adaption is entertaining for everyone, not just kids and women… Or maybe I’m just a kid at heart. The two aren’t mutually exclusive!:

In this episode we bid a tearful farewell to the epic Disney fairy tale series, Once Upon a Time. We look in on the second half of the season and of course, The Final Battle. We talk about our favorite characters, what we miss, what we would change, the wrap up, and how we’ll miss this series….Wait. What do you mean that it’s renewed for another season? With that ending…really?!

The 42cast Episode 15: The Fourth Defender

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about Danny Rand, the Immortal Iron Fist? He’s the one you love to hate and hate to… well… no. Don’t worry, it’s not an entire bash fest. We find the redeemable in Marvel and Netflix’s after thought of a series:

This is it, the fourth Netflix series co-produced with Marvel, which introduced the last of the four characters that they’d promised since 2014. After three amazing series, the public was primed for Iron Fist but for some reason it didn’t hit as well as the other three. In this episode we dive into that.

The 42cast Episode 13: Streams do Come True

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about getting progressively poorer as we admit we might have a problem with streaming content? Where can you listen to some of us struggle against the injustice, and some of us admitting we’re going all in, warp core to the wall? It’s episode 13 of the 42cast! Listen in. I mean, unless you’re superstitious and scared… :

It seems like you can’t look at the internet anymore without reading a report about some new streaming service starting up. This episode we look into what’s going on with all these services. Can they survive with a single, popular product? Can the consumer base afford to have so many streaming services at a time? What happens to Netflix and Hulu as more and more providers jump ship? How much will piracy effect things? Just what does happen when you cross the streams?

The 42cast Episode 12: The Big Bang Controversy

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about four other nerds sitting on a couch in front of a TV geeking out (it’s like they’re in my head!!)? BYOTTaM- Bring your own Thai take out and misogyny:

Never in all the history of geekdom has one show divided fandom as much as The Big Bang Theory. Some hate it. Some love it. There seems to be no in-between, and there doesn’t seem to be any pattern to who feels which way about it. This episode we try to get to the heart of the matter by talking to people on both sides of the coin. No matter how you feel about the show, there’s something in this episode for you.

The mid-season break is over and new episodes of Once Upon a Time come back to our screens tonight. In honor of that event, Ryan and Anji join the cast to talk about the first half of the season. It’s a conversation about Aladdin, Jasmine, the Land of Untold Stories, the Evil Queen, whether or not we care about The Charmings, and so much more.

On the spin off of the third episode of the 42cast, also known as the fourth episode! They’ve started laying out traps, but so far I’ve managed to avoid them without losing too many limbs…:

It’s the second part of our two-part examination of the Berlanti maxiverse. This week I’m rejoined by Ryan and Sam to talk about the first half of the current seasons of Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. Then we talk about the 3.1 part Invasion crossover that went through all four shows.

The 42cast Episode 3: Berlanti Maxiverse The New 52 Part One

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me geek out with fellow nerds about all that is the magical and angst ridden intersection of the CW Network and the DC Universe? On the third episode of the 42cast! So far I’ve still managed to ignore their hints to leave… :

In this episode Ryan and Sam sit down with me to talk about the four DC television series produced by Greg Berlanti for the CW. Because we recorded so much epic material, we had to split this one into two episodes, so this time we’re talking about The Flash and Arrow. We talk about what we think the highlights and downfalls of each half season have been and where we think each series is going from here.

In this episode Ryan and Eric sit down with me to talk about the first half of the fourth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. We also talk about Marvel’s The Inhumans as well as how what’s going on with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may impact the Netflix series and the rest of the MCU. It’s all that plus another Five Questions.

RevNews: Star Trek – The Fuller Frontier

Sometimes just reading Geek Stranger isn’t enough. Sometimes you just have to listen… and where can you listen to me pontificate about next year’s Trek? Why here with the fine fine folk at RevNews:

At long last, after many years and a movie reboot, Star Trek is finally returning to television! Well, sort of, as CBS reveals that the series will be part of their new streaming service. Not only that, it will be in the hands of one of our favorite show-runners, Bryan Fuller! We like this news because not only has Fuller brought us some of our favorite genre shows (Pushing Daises, Hannibal), but he got his start with Star Trek!
